It seems that due to the rapid and unexpected spread of COVID-19, the whole world suddenly seems out of balance and in a state of uncertainty. With the recommended self-isolation policies, many of us are having to spend extra time at home now and over the next few months.

To help us all keep some perspective at this difficult time, it’s super important to keep up with our normal routines as much as possible.

As a PT and health coach for over 15 years, I understand how important exercise is and for overall health and mental well being.

Why do we NEED to move?

To stay healthy, to keep our metabolism burning (and weight where we want it), to keep our bones strong, our muscles toned, our heart and lungs working efficiently, and perhaps most importantly for the ‘feel good’ factor and cerebral BOOST that exercise brings.

SO… here are

20 HOME WORKOUT IDEAS

  1. Walk 10 times up and down your stairs
  2. Do 100 step ups on bottom step of stairs
  3. Do 2 sets of 10 push ups and 30 bicycle legs
  4. Sit or lie in a comfy place and do 2 mins focused Diaphragmatic Breathing
  5. Do 10 mins on exercise bike/ indoor rower/ XT
  6. Do 3 sets of 10 squats and 30 shadow punches
  7. Walk/ jog 10 laps of your drive
  8. Do 21 Breathing Woodchops
  9. Do 3 sets of 20  ‘air rows’ and a 20 second plank
  10. Walk/ jog round your garden/ back yard 3 times
  11. Do 20 alternate Superman holding each 5 secs
  12. Walk/ jog to end of your street
  13. Do 3 sets of 30 shadow kicks and 10 prone cobra
  14. Do 2 mins Breathing Cross Crawl
  15. March or jog on spot for 2 minutes / lift knees high
  16. Lie on your back with feet on chair and do 3 mins Relaxation Breathing
  17. Do 3 sets of 20 secs wall ski squat and 10 sit-ups
  18. Do 3 sets of 20 pendulum legs and 5 inchworm
  19. Do 2 mins Prone to Child’s pose
  20. Put on some loud music and dance to your 3 fave tunes (like no one is watching!)
